What’s Up – Chorley Folk? (a guide to half-term fun this February)

So February Half Term is nearing us and when the kids are off school we don’t know whether to go lie down in a dark room or hope for the sound of the school bell again.

I could pretend that every family is blissfully happy at the thought of having the disruption of ‘another’ holiday to deal with and that children do play well together (especially those with many years between them – like mine) – not! And of course I like to give up my routine of organised activities (that stop for every school holiday) and my moments of bliss at the gym (especially the spa). Even shopping is a pleasure when the children are at school/pre-school.

Don’t get me wrong. I love my kids and I love the routine of my day to day life, during term time.  Me and my 4 year old (K’Boo) have an action-packed, fun-filled week and she has a better social life than me.  There is something going on ‘every’ day and there’s never a dull moment. But when all of this packs up and is not available in the school holidays, trying to amuse an 11 (going on 21) year old and a 4 year old in the same space and time is extremely difficult.

So, now we have realised that we are singing from the same hymn sheet ……

It needn’t be like that (cough) – honestly!

Well, no, it could be made a wee bit easier if you plan ahead and not leave yourself ringing around friends on the day that they are driving you up the wall, to realise that your friends ‘did plan ahead’ and have gone out for the day already.

So what’s on in and around Chorley and do I have to book?

Thank you very much for the mention and links, much appreciated x Hope to help lots of families to have some arty fun next week. We are open every day from 10am mid week.

  2. No problem Jane, it’s a pleasure. The photo of K’Boo (1st photo with your link) was during an NCT Stay & Play session (Coffee Morning). Those who came still talk about that day and how much fun it was. This is when I first discovered you and have enjoyed family sessions since. Fired 4 U gets my personal recommendation for a great family fun time with treasured keepsakes for memories of the day (and your child’s milestones/abilities). I would recommend it especially for children with disabilities and learning difficulties. My Step-son has CP and he had a fabulous time exploring his creativity.

I love comments and appreciate your feedback - share the love here!
