Well, here it is!
At our Easter Fun Day (NCT) today, I won a monster chocolate cake. It was lovely, fabulous to look at. I have tasted a version of this cake so many times before and, it is very nice, very nice indeed. It is, in essence a very popular recipe, that is handed down frequently after the experience of tasting. First made and presented by Helen, who has appeared in one of my reviews, she has copied many many times to others, who have continued to hand it down.
But, today, this cake was made by non other than Helen herself and today I won this cake in the draw…………………….
However, not only have I given up eating carbs’ (except for one treat day per week – which was today!). This cake would take more than one day, believe me! But, tomorrow, I am off on my hols – so no chance of the kids even eating it!
It seemed, therefore, the decent thing to do – to offer the cake to the highest bidder and then more money could be raised for the charity. I had thought when buying 2 x chances of winning that I could not ever take this cake home – but the NCT is such a worthy charity, it did not matter and that was not why I parted with my coffers.
This monster chocolate cake sits on a full sized dinner plate and is not for the faint hearted. chocolate lovers need only apply. The recipe is no secret – just ask!
